Everyone at some point of time, come across a phase when they need a good dose of motivation. I too had faced such a period in my life, when everything seemed to have falling apart. That was the time, started looking towards some books to recollect myself and get started all over again.
Here is a list of 9 most impactful collection of self-Help books I came across.
1.) Srimad Bhagwad Geeta – Srimad Bhagwad Geeta is usually considered only as a religious book. But when I read it for the first time, I could not stop myself from reading it several more times. I personally find it much for than just a spiritual manuscript. There is a science behind every word written in there. So, if you are looking for some answers to questions or wanting to experience personal growth, do consider reading it.
2.) As the Man Thinketh by James Allen – This books brings you closer to a great facts – Thoughts are things. We are what we repeatedly think about. So, if we want to bring anything into reality in our outer world, there has to be a clear blueprint of it in mind first. Just like a plan is created before the structure of any building is bought into existence. A classic – short simple yet powerful manuscript.
3.) The Secret by Rhonda Byrne – Now-a-days, I see everyone is aware of Law of Attraction. However, for me, The Secret was the book, which introduced LOA to me. To my surprise, this was the answers to all my questions. My life is changed from right there. Although, both the above mentioned books, indirectly points towards LOA, but this book gave a clear picture of it.
4.) The Magic by Rhonda Byrne: This is another gemstone by Rhonda Byrne. In this book, there are 28 gratitude practices to be followed for 28 days. Before I read this book, I was grateful about my life and wonderful things in my life and was apprehensive that how reading a book can make me feel more grateful; but upon reading I realized that there are thousands of things in life, which we are gifted to us. And another great thing about this book is that when we shift our focus towards finding things, we are grateful for; we tend to forget what we are lacking in our lives. This is where a shift in our life begins. I am grateful that I found this book.
5.) The Alchemist by Paulo Coehlo – the book is in the form of a fable with influential metaphor that will help you to realize your dreams and overcome any obstacles in your path. An easy to read and highly expressive. Over the course of the book, there are people and situations that provide wisdom, truth, and even hardship. If you are looking for motivation to chase a big dream, please, read this book. Books is also full of inspiring quotes that would stimulate your nerves while you read it. It is a masterpiece by Poulo Coehlo.
6.) Seven Habits of Highly Effective People by Steven R. Covey: A practical guide with easy to follow instructions. Whether you are an individual wanting personal growth or an entrepreneur who need powerful guidance to run a business. This book is a right fit for you. Learn to “put first things first”, “begin with the end in mind” and effective time management. This book is a classic in management and leadership literature.
7.) Who moved my cheese by Dr. Spencer Johnson: This one is amazing; Short and Crisp. A Very little yet an effective book. In this book author is trying to help the readers to meritoriously deal with the changes in life and work place. It is a small book, that can be finished in one go.
8.) You can Heal Your Life by Louise L. Hay – The name says it all. And trust me, you don’t need to be ill to read this book. This book talks about how our emotions effect our life. If we are facing any trouble today, that’s probably due to the past emotions stored in our sub-conscious mind. It’s a good read to change the perspective towards life and people around.
9.) The Magic of Thinking Big by David J. Schwartz – Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t, you’re right! That is all, this book explains. Once you start reading it, you won’t stop until you finish it. This is an engaging book, which compels you to start thinking bigger than what you think right now. Our potential is limited by our thinking.
But the bottom line is no matter how many personal development and self-help books you read, real transformation occurs when you act on them.
