A wedding venue with plenty of history
If you are looking for a romantic setting for your special day then you will find Blake Hall will tick many of your boxes. With its 17th century barn and truly beautiful garden settings, you will think you have stepped onto the film set for a Jane Austin adaptation!
Set in the pretty village of Bobbingworth near Ongar in Essex, the Hall is easy to get to. But once you are there you feel you have stepped back in time and will not believe that you are still so close to the hustle and bustle of city life.
Having your dream barn wedding
While the wedding venue may be called Blake Hall, it is actually a stunning ancient hay barn restoration on the grounds of a great country house. The barn screams romance with its timber beams and large windows letting in beams of natural sunlight.
The barn is licensed for civil ceremonies. You can choose to have both your wedding ceremony and reception in the barn. You can also have an outdoor ceremony (weather permitting) under the canopy of the Old Saddlery followed by your reception in the barn.
Exclusive use of the barn
You can book exclusive use of the Blake Hall barn for your wedding. This also includes the stunning gardens that surround the barn and, a full set of staff to cater for your special day.
The barn is set in 25 acres of land. This includes a choice of walled gardens and pockets of woodlands, sweeping lawns and gardens that give a spectacular backdrop for your wedding film.
Historic setting for your wedding
Privately owned, Blake Hall house is actually hundreds of years old. It has been used for many different purposes over the years. The house was used during the First World War as a military hospital, and as a military base during World War 2. It makes a stunning background for your wedding film as you wander hand-in-hand through the surrounding gardens.
The great thing about hiring the barn for your wedding is that you can arrange your wedding with great flexibility. You can have your wedding tailored on a bespoke basis to make sure you get exactly what you need; from canapés for your day time wedding guests to a 3-course sit-down evening meal.
