Review: Web Series Expiry Date – A suspense thriller loaded with love, lies, and deceit

Hey Friends,

Amid the hectic schedule, I decided to give myself a break and watch a new suspense thriller web series – Expiry Date on ZEE5. So here, I come again with the detailed review of Expiry Date – A suspense thriller loaded with love, lies, and deceit

An Overview of Web Series “Expiry Date”

Expiry Date is a 10 episode romantic thriller series. You can see Tony Luke (who played Taapsee Pannu’s boyfriend in Movie Badla) in the lead role as Vishwa, Sneha Ullal, Madhu Shalini (the lady in the lead – previously seen in Ram Gopal Varma’s Bhoot Returns), and Ali Reza in leading roles. This fascinating series travels into the dark side of love, with emotions like lust, disloyalty, and hate. The series is a heating up story with several unpredictable twists and turns that would keep you engaged throughout.

What Is the Expiry Date Story About?

Vishwa is a young successful top-notch businessman who is happily married to his long-time friend Disha. Though he appears as a compassionate man, as soon as he realizes that his wife Disha is cheating on him, he turns to a resentful person. He plots his wife’s murder in such a way that all the blame points to Disha’s boyfriend Sunny.

But things take a different turn and he accidentally kills Disha in an unplanned way. This turns his whole plan upside down. Nevertheless, he manages to bring his own plan in shape again to safeguard him selves.

Another twist comes, when Sunny (Disha’s Boyfriend) also gets killed by his wife (that too was an accident). Now the whole story revolves around hiding both these murders.

But, it’s not that simple, there is another twist, Disha and Sunny had hired a contract killer to kill Vishwa. He (Contract Killer) had recorded the murder of Disha, so he begins to blackmail Vishva and Sunita (Sunny’s wife). The series is a must-watch till its end.

The Web Series “Expiry Date” becomes interesting when Vishwa and Sunita come up with weird ideas to escape the police at every step. The screenplay is filled with occasions where both these characters plan their moves as if they know the next step of the investigators.

Performances of the star cast?

The whole story is carried up by Vishwa and Sunita. In fact, Madhu Shalini is the most impressive character in the series, she has played a remarkable role.

Sneha Ullal bags a role with decent screen space, though it there isn’t anything amazing out of her.

Ali Reza (Playing Sunny’s part) has a decent but brief role. The rest of the supporting cast has also done well on their part.

Final Verdict

Overall, I would give a rating of 4 out of 5 to the show.

The score constantly underlines that the show is moving at a spectacular pace. It doesn’t even waste a single moment of slowing down its pace for the viewers to predict, what is going to happen next.

Cinematography (done by Suresh Ragutu) is one of the strengths of this series. Writing, and execution feels a little cluttered in at few places, but overall is a gripping series, that you may want to binge-watch.

Love, lies, deceit, and #BuriedSecrets can be seen everywhere in the series, right from the beginning till the series ends.

Closing Words on Web Series Expiry Date

I would probably recommend this series to everyone who enjoys watching Thrillers. #ExpiryDate mainly outfits to the people who enjoy fast-paced and masala stuff to watch, Expiry Date makes for a spicy watch. ZEE5 has many more amazing and gripping thriller movies and series to watch, that you would never want to miss out.
