Can Money Buy Happiness?

Can money buy happiness

Let’s struggle until you make it!

We have surely heard this statement at least once in our whole lifetime. Every person around is busy making wealth to stay happier, aren’t they? Ask a man why he’s so tense, and what will make him happy, the only reply you might get would be, “If only I had this much money, I wouldn’t have been struggling this much”, yet how much is this much, even he might not know it!

Despite having everything we have ever wished for, we as humans, often look out for something more. And then exactly at the same moment, we lose our inner peace and happiness. But is money truly a solution to all the underlying issues? Can a huge amount of money make a person happier and disease-free? Well, let’s just discover it all!

Why Is Money Important In Almost Every Individual’s Life?

Practically speaking, money nowadays can buy everything, from luxury to entertainment, you name it, you have it. But even this is true, that money also buys basic necessities like cloth, food, shelter, and education which we need to live our lives. Still, I would like to say that money should never be the goal of human endeavor. This is because the material possessions money can buy can never outweigh feelings like stress, insecurity, happiness. And in a few scenarios money can actually act as a cause of these issues and can’t make a person happier.

But In Actual Sense, How Does Happiness Feels Like?

Happiness is somehow a short-lived state, which an individual can experience through internal sources. It comes over when we feel that life is becoming good, the moment we are living is awesome, and what best that has to be done is just SMILE and stay stress-free. Different people feel happier for different reasons, and the reason is highly personal, but the feeling is exactly the same.

Happiness can also never be an end goal, but an ongoing process, which is highly difficult to maintain for some. For example, some people always find happiness in almost everything they do, but a few just keep on seeking happiness. But the secret here is, the people who always stay satisfied with life are the ones who are more successful.

Once rightly said by our ancestors “A happy poor man stays much happier than a greedy rich man.”

Does Someone Really Have To Pay The Cost Of Happiness?

Money is truly an important factor in life, for example – A person who is hungry for weeks, would get happier if he gets money for food. But the same definition changes as we go from poor to rich. For the poor, any food can give him/her happiness, but rich ones are more specific about what they eat. And just a bit of weird taste can spoil their happiness.

This instance clearly states that everyone has a different definition of happiness. But somehow it’s all related to inner peace, or an inner sense of satisfaction. Simply, a good and wealthy lifestyle can surely give a person wealth to maintain the lifestyle, but probably they have to compromise a bit with sleep, rest, and family time.

Can money buy happiness?

Hence, Here Are A Few Reasons Why I Feel Money Can’t Buy Happiness!

Money Just Provides Temporary Pleasures

Happiness that is dependent on money lasts for a short time. For example, a lady wishes to buy beautiful home decor, even though it was out of budget. When she buys it, it turns out to be a useless pick, because she wasn’t able to use it for a long time.

Hence, it’s true that money gives pleasure to humans, but it’s even true that joy never really lasts long. And to feel that happiness all over again, they will again have to buy new stuff.

Money Never Always Satisfy Human Desires

More money never equals more satisfaction, because it often leads to greater feelings of fulfilment. The list of desires gets endless, for example, if a person once gets what he wants, he craves for more, and never gets satisfied.

Money Cannot Change A Person’s Mindset

An individual mindset plays a crucial role in staying happier, and this is something money can’t either buy or fix. It is something a person can himself do for his own better. Having a pessimistic mindset never really brings happiness, no matter how many tons of money he/she owns.

Money Can’t Build Relationships, Or Make It Stronger

Relationships stimulate happiness, and to be specific here, nobody can ever buy or make relationships with the help of money. Being together with someone you love for even a few minutes makes a person feel happier. Hence, it’s important to build relationships with partners, friends, and family without taking money into the account, to stay happier in the long run.

Money Can Attract Toxicity

Nevertheless, many people out there are in dire need of money. Thus being wealthy never really guarantees happiness, instead wealthy people often attract humans having immoral behaviour. Such humans only care about getting money from you, and for this, they can harm you emotionally.

Can money buy happiness?

But A Few Reasons More Why I Believe Money Can Buy Happiness Too!

Just the way a coin has two sides, even money has two sides of it. And as Robert Kiyosaki once rightly said, “It’s not how much money you make, but how much money you keep, how hard it works for you, and how many generations you keep it for.” The truth bete js money can give us happiness, and here are a few reasons how money can make us happy:

Money Gives A Sense Of Security

The more money a person earns, the less he/she worries about things that involve money which indirectly gives a sense of security. And the less stressed they become, the more time the person gets to focus on things that actually make him happy.

Money Can Buy Experiences

Experiences are a great way of learning, and money can definitely give an individual much experience. If you are someone having more money in your hand, try spending it on family vacations, trips, or learning high-income skills. All these experiences last for a longer time and maintain a higher level of happiness, when remembered.

Money Can Borrow You Some Invaluable Time

Everyone is busy around us, but if looked at from a kid’s eyes, they require much attention. Hence one can free up their time by delegating/outsourcing some part of their work. In this way, one can use that time with their family, and even take care of themselves and passion (which actually makes a person feel fulfilled and happy).

Everyone has their own definition of being happier, it can either be money, family, or health. To sum up, the answer to whether money can buy happiness is Paradoxically, Yes!

The reason is, how much money a person needs completely differs from another individual. And money just increases the potential of happiness, if aligned correctly with values, experiences, and items.

Also, if you are still questioning “Why money can’t buy happiness?”, you must rethink your perception of overall well-being, and understand what happiness truly means to us at an individual level.

Yet again if you are constantly worrying about money, it’s time for you to find happiness outside of the “Money-thoughts”

How can you do it?

● By searching motivation/cause that resonates with you

● By living each passing moment and staying in the present● By not complicating life, and avoiding comparison● By maintaining a proper budget, and building emergency funds that would in result keep you comfortable

Last but truly not the least:

Never Be Slave Of Money, Never Come In Control Of Money, But Even Never Push It Away. Instead, Control Your Money, Because It’s A Part Of Abundance In Life!

Excellent post. You evaluated from both sides of the coin. Money cannot buy happiness, that’s an inside job, and while money might not be everything, it can provide security, give you a great lifestyle, and give you the ability to help other people.

Money can definitely supplement happiness, but can never buy it. Happiness comes from within. It’s our mindset, thoughts& feelings. Money only helps if it’s kept in its true place as a secondary need for a healthy state of mind.
