As soon as the weather gets cold, it can leave people feeling unmotivated. This is why it’s critical for you to make that extra push to get your winter workouts in each and every week. It can impact both your physical and mental health.
Even in the workplace, many employers are placing an emphasis on wellness practices. It’s been a tough year, and the stress has gotten to people. So, employers are exploring such things as:

- Nutrition advice
- Self-care kits
- Gym memberships
Whether you work for a company offering you help or not, there are at least a few things that you can do. And one of the reasons for working out beyond improving your health is to avoid making the wrong choices. If you get too far out of your routine, you can fall into bad habits and even addiction. Establish a Routine
A routine is one of the easiest ways for you to focus on yourself. If you’re going to squeeze in a workout, decide on a time that works best for your schedule. You may not be able to talk yourself out of making those bad decisions – and that’s why it’s good to find a group of people who will help to hold you accountable.
Find some people in your community, at your workplace, or even online who have similar goals. Workout together. Share frustrations. Have daily or weekly check-ins so that you hold each other accountable.
When you begin working out with a group, it can help to keep you on track and ensure that you don’t let yourself down.
Eat Better Food
Did you know that there are some foods that will actually help you to improve your productivity? Forget about the fried and fatty foods that you may depend on for a sugar rush. Instead, explore some superfoods that can have a positive impact on your motivation. Such foods include salmon, berries, green tea, nuts, and dark chocolate.
Figure out how to incorporate some of these foods into your daily diet. You may want to have salmon for lunch or dinner at least twice a week. Skip coffee in the mornings for a mug of green tea. And instead of reaching for a candy bar, grab up a handful of trail mix with nuts and dark chocolate chips.
When you can fight the depression of the wintery months, it can do amazing things for your confidence, your body, and your mental health. There’s no need to do it alone, either. Start building your team so that all of you can work together.

One tool i used is the Fitbit app where i sign up for the workweek or weekend step challenges with friends or app users. This has motivated me for years to get at least 10,000 a day.

My one major takeaway from your article is establishing a routine. Having a routine makes daily exercise easy-ier! This is super helpful, particularly as I try to do a minimum of 10,000 steps of brisk walking daily.
